Re: Astra K emissions recall

From what i read about the VW recall, they reprogrammed the ECU to meet the stated emissions, but in doing so, the cars "lost" some horsepower. I wonder if vauxhall will also have to take away horsepower to get their software to stay within the stated emissions figures. If so, we should re...

Re: Fault Code P0299 Turbo Underboost

Yeah, this is what happens when enviromentalists force the manufacturers to do stuff for the "enviroment" that is not really good for the engine. I wonder if it is possible to get an EGR delete for the 1.6D All of that crap is exhaust gasses, the EGR valve recirculates into the intake mani...

Re: Vauxhall Astra k 1.6cdti loud rattle

Just to give you an update, a week after it was fixed the rattle returned, to cut a long story short I ended up part ex’ing my Astra’s few days after it had a chance to get any worse, now the proud owner of a 70 plate seat Leon 1.5tsi DSG. My advice is to get rid ASAP. Lost all faith In Vauxhall, n...

Re: Fault Code P0299 Turbo Underboost

NICE! I'll have a look and report back! How did you clean it? Did you need to use carb cleaner or something like that? Thanks, I found a couple of places where they mentioned that the best way to clean a MAP sensor was to gently scrape away the majority of the soot, and then blast it with some cont...

Re: Fault Code P0299 Turbo Underboost

... So, i found a video on youtube, where they talked about the P0299 with a 1.6 astra diesel. He said the car had a caked up MAP sensor. Thought....It's easy to check, only one bolt, if i can find it. This is what i found...And some soot even fell off before i could take the picture. So basically.....

Re: USB Socket broken

Be aware that the sockets from 2015-2016 cars were only able to source 500mA so when using for example Android auto, with GPS navigation and maybe even a streaming service, this socket would at best just be able to source enough power for your phone to not lose any charge.. The link in the post abov...

I've had tyre pressure loss on my Astra H and current car. Both times put in tyre weld and sorted it
Tyre weld is a really bad idea when you have TPMS sensors.

If that stuff gums up on your sensor, it could stop working, and you would need to buy a new sensor as well.

Re: Fault Code P0299 Turbo Underboost

So, this year's holiday seems to be a repeat of yesteryear. Car has been behaving fine since last summer, but this summer, we decided to go to Italy for our summer holiday. About 5 times on our drive there, the P0299 error came on. Luckily, we could actually just connect to the ELM327 while driving,...

Re: Vauxhall Astra k 1.6cdti loud rattle

A mate of mine has just part exchanged his Toyota Auris, owned it for 6.3 years, bought it at a couple of years old and done nothing to it apart from serviciable items, I couldn't believe it. He's now bought a 2019 UP, GTi. Seems to be a fun little thing. I feel Vauxhall know what the issues are wi...
