Re: Opinions on 1.6 Bi-Turbo diesel?

No oil or LSPI issues, it's a petrol thing :-) I love mine. The right balance between economy and performance. MPG has got better over time for me - now at 16k miles I am getting a reported 60 mpg at an average speed of 23mph (a lot of local driving). Lifetime MPG has been increasing and is currentl...

Re: 1.4 SRi (150) - 66 plate - clutch issue

I have a 17 plate biturbo. Had clutch to the floor once, solved by putting foot behind it and lifting it back up (whilst driving). Been fine since. Clutch feels light so maybe not a strong enough return spring? Is mine the same problem? That sounds like it - sorry - my local Vauxhall garage knew al...

Re: 1.6 Diesel Astra K Clutch Fault

Me too 1.6 BiTurbo with 15,500 miles - not a full failure - caught it pre-failure - problems with hill start and clutch being floppy for first 2/3rds of travel, low biting point (gear crunching) and hard to push as everything happened in the last 1/3rd. Clutch sleeve and slave cylinder replaced (1 w...

Software upgrade to BCM and new parking sensor - so far so good :-)
So glad to be back in the Astra after driving a Meriva for a couple of days - nice town car with neat doors for kids in child seats.

Re: Front Parking sensor Alarming all the time under 5mph and Alarm going off when unlocked.

So I got there, eventually - screw in the tyre last night meant the AA had to attend this morning to get it driveable again, spoiling for a fight but I kept my calm. I handed over my driving licence, insurance certificate and the DVLA sharing code that I had generated. I was met with a "Oh, that's g...

Front Parking sensor Alarming all the time under 5mph and Alarm going off when unlocked.

Starting this weekend the front parking sensor constant tone, along with all 5 bars lit on the display, sounding every time I go under 5mph. At the same time I have had a couple of instances whereby after parking and getting out of the car the alarm has sounded after a minute before I have even lock...

I run mine in Night mode all the time - I prefer that screen contrast instead of the very white background in day mode.

Re: 1.0T vs 1.4T sri nav

Also if you're looking at the moment then Motorpoint have about 100 year old 1.4T SRI Nav models in or coming in soon from £10,600 to £11,000 which look good value to me. I read "100 year old 1.4T SRI Nav" "£10,600 to £11,000" and thought what a bargain. Then I read "100, year old, 1.4T SRI Nav" - ...

Re: cruise control not switching off

From what I read it sounds like lansing77 said both the clutch and brake pedals just disengaged and went flat to the floor but cruise control was still active and car was still increasing speed. You are right a tap on the brake would normally turn off cruise control and you would have thought that i...
