Re: Flex rail system

How much did you pay out of interest? One of the things i expected was little bag hooks in the ST. None to be seen 🙄.

Re: Help needed with choosing a new front grill

I quite like the look of your original grill. The straight slats make it look quite aggresive. Off topic but what engine choices do you have in China?

Re: Feathered edge of nearside front tyre

Too fast on roundabouts. :D Now if I still had my vx220 I would agree wholeheartedly but not in the Astra. It gets parked outside the house rather than up the drive so its not the repeated turn up the drive either. If it was just the pull to left with no (what I call) unusual wear I would probably ...

Feathered edge of nearside front tyre

Picked my car up with 299 miles on clock (end of Jan approx) Now done 4.5k. On test drive it had pulled slightly to the left. Vaux dealer assured me they would check alignmwnt and sort. Bwfore pixking ut up dealer said they had checked it and it was spot on. When I picked it up and drove away it was...

Re: Winter wheels

Also I didnt bother with TPMS (although mytyres did offer it!) I looked into it, there are (seemingly, but Im sure someone will be along to tell me otherwise!)) no insurance implications. I dont mind having the light for a few months a year.

Re: Winter wheels

Yes thats what I thought, you dont really have a clutch to balance so may be a bit more problematic, certainly this winter I had to take a days holiday as I couldnt get out of the village (hope to avoid that now with the wheels of steel!). If it wasnt for the fact that the bridgestones only have 3k ...

Re: Winter wheels

Just following up on this. I was going to look for some wheels on ebay and buy tyres separately. However mytyres do complete wheel-tyre packages so i opted for these, come fitted and balanced. Saving the faff of ebay , wheels and fitting. Opted for 195 65 15 Continental wintercontact 860, wheels all...

Re: Mpg not so good

On my pootle to and from work, 1.4T auto. I can get about 40mpg (depends how I drive, that is taking it steady!). Thats about 12 miles of 60mph road but average speed over whole journey tends to be 30mph-40mph. Now the past month my wife has been using the astra and Ive used the other car. She has b...

Re: ASTRA SRI BI TURBO 1600

Its not actually relevant to me as mine is an auto but Im curious. Do they replace with an uprated part or same part and so people will have to endure a repeat process in xxx miles? I assume its the former?

Corsa gsi

In some of the motoring press Ive noticed there is a new Corsa GSI. Has the 1.4 turbo engine as fitted to the astra. 148bhp. Claimed 0-60 time of 8.9 seconds. How the hell is it slower than the Astra, isnt the book figure for Astra 1.4t 7.8 seconds? Is the Corsa filled with lead? Shirley its lighter...
