Re: Astra K 1.0t lumpy running?

Mine was reliable enough with no hgf. The gearbox failing was why i binned it off though. It was on 140k miles when it was summoned to the scrap yard πŸ˜‚ yep same spec yours as the sei had those but mine was night fire red. Really wanted a 220 coupe but decided on a mg zr instead πŸ˜‚

I also owned a rover 214 seiπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
The worst thing about that car was the Peugeot gearbox that was mated to the K-series engineπŸ˜’πŸ˜’ failed twice on me.

Re: Astra K 1.0t lumpy running?

Yes Boroboy this is a normal trait for my 1.0t too. Even more noticeable if waiting at traffic lights on a hill when engine temp cold. My previous 4 cylinder Renault and MG cars also did this, more so the Renault πŸ˜‚ but that was the worst car imaginable.

Re: Diesel particulate filter full help

At that sort of mileage i would say your dpf is shagged. Changing the dpf will be the cause of action, though the cost will be extortionate.

I realise my car uses the Dexos 1, gen 2 oil. Anyone know why it states 5w 20 on the filler cap? As Dexos 1, gen 2 oil is 5w 30.
Cheers.
It doesn't really matter as I've ignored it. Watch this YouTube video below to explain it for you.

okay so not the exact dipstick but close. it has those combed areas:

should the oil level fill the combed area (right below the bulbous part)? or should it just reach up to it?
Just under the top combed area is where i refill mine.

Re: Which engine oil do you recommend?

Think my next service I'll buy dexos 1 oil & a filter from the vaux parts counter, they usually sell it to me at trade (as I ask), then have an independent change it and stamp my book. Keep receipts for any possible future warranty claims. No doubt in the future Dexos 1 oil will come down in price,...
