Re: Help!

Use Megs Ultimate compound and see what your left with.
Then use a fine art brush to fill the scratches until the paint sit proud. Then wetsand the area with 2000 until smooth before compounding back to a shine.

You should get it 80% perfect.

Re: Sharkfin

Only thing I lost was the FM radio.

Hardest part was putting it on straight.

Re: sri with elite map - ideal

I sure you could stick/screw a piece of rectangular plastic to the arch liners to replicate the small vertical spoilers.

Didn't realise this was an older thread.

Glad it was an easy fix.

Re: Astra K 68 Plate Wet in the Boot

Surely the headliner would be water stained if the Aerial gasket failed.

Check all rubber seals around the boot and ensure they aren't tacked under the trim etc.

Re: sri with elite map - ideal

The main road noise in the K is the wheels arches and boot area. If you turn your head when doing 40-50mph you can hear the dull roar coming 80% from the back.

Re: sri with elite map - ideal

Yes, it appeared VX stuffed the early '65 plate models with everything and then took it away from all but a few models.

Re: Sharkfin

I fitted a dummy sharkfin as the DAB aerial is in the rear window. You lose FM but no loss to be honest.
