Guys our 1.4t's at work are a bit hit and miss. A few have been absolutely fine (all same year and on lease) but a couple have had 2 engines both in each. The 2 culprits were serviced at VX with the oil, ecu update etc but even after new engines 1st time around they both suffered lspi again with 2 m...

What a pain the slave is inside the box ! I had one go a couple of years back on a SEAT and that was on the outside so nice and easy. Have a look through other threads on here about 1.4t clutch pedal failures..

Yeah Def not a duvet around the battery area Dan lol , I'm going to do mine when the weather gets better .
Did a trip to London and back 2 days ago and must say its considerably louder than my old seat Leon . but got a genuine 50.2mpg (brim to brim on tank) so I'm not complaining that much !

That's fair enough Nathan , Sri spec a nice improvement. I previously had the 1.0t Sri , great to start with but was one hell of a noisy engine (particularly noisy fuel injectors) and I'm sure had lspi issues but didn't find out 100% as p/ex it . My advice to anyone is go for the 1.6t , no known iss...

Sorry my bad didn't read earlier message , you are a brave man going from a 1.4t with lspi problems to another 1.4t .
Did you not look at the 1.6 t ?

The Astra j used to suffer from coil packs but not so much in the k. Dodgy plug can upset the drive etc so worth doing those. But speaking to my local dealer / service manager the other day on k problems the coil pack change & plugs didn't even get a mention...more so info system , diesel chain , ls...
