Re: Corrosion on the Turbo

I was passing the dealership today so I popped in, the parts guy said it's because it's cast iron which is why it's rusted. It seems odd that on a new car the rust is acceptable and they haven't found something to mask it.

Corrosion on the Turbo

Has anyone had the issue of corrosion on one part of their turbo? See picture attached.

Re: Best way to dry the car after washing?

I'd say avoid using a Chamois as it can cause scratches from dirt getting trapped. Same as the squeegee blade. Your best bet is a good microfibre drying towel. I've had a few but the best one I've used so far is this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XYB7HCT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=U...

Re: Poor build quality

I've had mine for 16,000 miles from new and I haven't had any issues as of yet. I don't know whether they've spent more time and money on the 1.6T or what but it seems ridiculous the amount of issues other cars are having.

For the watts, look at the rear suspension. if there is a bar going across, you've got the watts.

Re: 1.6t tailgate badge

I wasn't a fan of the Turbo badge itself so had the dealer remove it. I can't help but think the red made it look a bit odd.

Re: Talk me out of it?

I'd definitely recommend the 1.6T. I've had mine for a year now and not had a single issue with it. I have a feeling they put more effort into the development of it.
