On my last service receipt it says dexos 1 gen.2 was used.Its been the recommended oil for quite a while now.

The neg. terminal is the flat upright just on the left and in front of the coolant tank with a stud with nut through it.

Hi,your car does have an agm battery in the boot but there are also charging connectors under the bonnet on the right behind the large black fuse box cover,one is a flat upright terminal and the earth is a hexagon stud on the bulkhead.

Synthetic oil is definitely NOT organic which means derived from animal or plant matter occurring naturally.Modern synth. oil is a purely artificial man made substance and should therefore not “go bad”.Older mineral oil would deteriorate over time but very old mineral oil decades old has been shown ...

The two types may be because the 1.6t petrol has bigger brakes,the two type 2 MAY be two different manufacturers as they are very close in size.

Oil life counter during lockdown

When I parked my car on the drive just before lockdown I checked the oil life as it is due a service,it was on 10%,now weeks later it is showing 0% ,the car has not moved,it has not been even started so I think it all points to this counter being rubbish and just a con to worry you into getting it s...

It would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on performance and consumption differences between standard and this kit and what bhp was quoted and was it really worthwhile.

This is the best my 1.6t st. petrol has managed,I would find it difficult to better this personally.

In a word-yes,you should get the battery tested and if any doubt ,change it.The long cables from battery to the front of these cars seems to exacerbate the problem.
