You know when you unlock your car, the headlights turn on automatically? Am I correct in saying it’s not possible to do this when locking the car unless pulling the full beam stalk prior to shutting the door?
That is my understanding of how it works. Isn't it opening the door though?

Re: MY2017 service dealership used 0W20 oil

As far as I know if the service is done at a Vauxhall dealer the job card from the Vauxhall system tells the tech doing the service the correct oil to use based on your VIN. You are probably correct, as it did indicate it on my service printed sheet. In my case my oil cap states 0W20 oil. Having sa...

Re: MY2017 service dealership used 0W20 oil

The official bulletin from vauxhall/opel states My 18 and later even for your engine. So is the dealer correct in your case as yours is My17. Oil has changed so much and is not always backwards compatible with all engines. The bulletin does not show any My for the 1L le1 engine so is ok for all them...

Re: Are the 1.4T interference or non-interference?

I believe most modern engines are interference these days. The petrol engines are vvt so pistons and valves share the same upper cylinder spaces, but at different times.

Re: MY2017 service dealership used 0W20 oil

Hi, Anyone know if this is correct i just had my 4th annual service on MY2017 astra k and the dealership used 0W20 oil. I asked them and they said vauxhall have changed the grade of oil from 5W30 to 0W20 to be used with my astra. What engine is it? The 1.4 turbo petrol uses it after MY18 and onward...

Re: Electronic Parking Brake proplems

I would read the owners manual if it was my car and operate the epb as it instructs. Should it not work as it should then it has a fault on the system

Re: Electronic Parking Brake proplems

The epb will auto release when you raise the clutch pedal a bit and start applying movement to the throttle pedal. As if to pull away and I think you get the message "parking brake released". To manually release the epb your foot has to be on the brake pedal and you push the epb switch down and then...

Re: Hello Everyone

You need a service invoice off them for engine warranty purposes, as you don't get a service stamp book anymore, or at least I didnt.

Re: Hello Everyone

Am hoping all being well that I will collect my new car tomorrow. An almost brand new 1 year old SRI Nav 1.4. Car has just 10 miles on it so virtually new. Only fly in ointment is we live in lockdown area but dealer is still open so by 10:30 in morning should be away with new car. Went back to deal...

Any foibles I should look out for?
Use the correct oil and dont lug the engine in high gears.
