------------ a, Customer support - inquiries, vehicle status, issues or concerns

------------ c, Answer warranty and product inquiries, etc.
------------ d, We can also provide contact information if you feel the need for further follow-up.
Please note that for us to help assist anyone there may be times where part of the process may include asking for personal information - here we would take this private and offline to speak directly with you the customer. If you need to reach out please do so, we will try and handle any questions as quickly as possible.
Has everyone here had their car serviced at a Vauxhall garage to keep their warranties valid???
Vauxhall Thurlow Nunn are charging £181 online (£227 in store) for a 3rd year (interim) service compared to Mr Clutch at £94 and Halfords at £69. Mr Clutch say they use Vauxhall parts which will keep the warranty valid, also Halfords say their service does not invalidate the warranty.
Just wanted to know if anyone has had heir car serviced elsewhere and kept the warranty?
Thanks for being proactive, Opel/VX social customer care.
Can you research all the threads found by searching "thin paint" and comment, please?
In my experience, the Astra paint system does seem to have a low surface energy finish - even without the application of wax or other modifiers - once the "road film" has been removed by water.
As Wikipaedia mentions "The intrinsic hydrophobicity (water repellance) of a surface can be enhanced by being textured with different length scales of roughness".
Perhaps Flip Chip Silver is lyophobic (a liquid hating colloid) - perhaps all car Opel/VX paints are.
Hi
I'd like to see you be proactive by letting us know about the issues with the astra that you are aware about. There must be a reason that you have requested to join this forum, and i assume that the reason is that you value customer feedback and Want to improve the product. Read the issues and feedback on this site and give us some guidance on how to make them better.
Its a great car but from my point of view, it has a few rattles in the interior. These are sometimes sorted with a spray of oil or grease or a bit of padding.
Do this kind of thing in the factory.
Can you please tell me what is the latest firmware for a 2016 Intellilink R4.0 and if this firmware includes the option to do subsequent firmware updates over the air.
My Intellilink R4 has Wifi and can see and connect to wifi networks, so all that is needed is that the firmware supports OTA updates.
The local dealer wants to charge me for 1 hour of work to update the R4.0 from the current 2015 firmware and to avoid having to pay for the upgrade in the future i would like to know if it is possible to do OTA if i pay the dealer for the update now.
If not, do you have information on when an update that will include OTA updating, would be released...if ever. ?
Hello Opel/VX social customer care - no response from you on the vaious topics raised in this thread since 11 Nov 2018 - we would like to hear what you have to say on all of them.
To remind you - paint, how to tips and Intellilink R4 OTA updates.
How come they've now gone quiet ? Am I the only one thinking that their joining is primarily PR driven, to quell, at times, dissatisfaction. Time will tell but manufacturer's have a habit of suppressing or denying common faults only known to exist via owner forums such as this one. Be interesting to see how Opel Vauxhall Social Customer Care react to issues/queries in longer term.

They threatened that other Vauxhall adviser on here few weeks back to stop helping us...said there'll take over from now on. He's gone to work at bmw now I think and sold his Astra!
Is it even verified these guys are legit? I mean for what we've seen so far it could as well be some random guys having a go at people desperately seeking answers and willing to believe anyone saying just exactly what they want to hear?

That Gentleman who worked at vauxhall customer services was really helpful and went out of his way to find answers to our questions. He seemed to get technical answers for the problems rather than "book your car in", I guess this was because he had an Astra too and wanted answers himself. It really did help. I did read that he was told to no longer post in here and that he had since left Vauxhall. A shame really. Need a Vauxhall technician here who can answer a lot of the problems directly. That's just my recommendation.

I do hope the Vauxhall Customer Care team on here are able offer better help and advice than they give by email.
After being in contact with at least four different members of the Vauxhall Customer Care team over the last three weeks trying to get Vauxhall's Connect Services to work with the My Vauxhall app we finally arrived at the answer that my Astra (even though it is only three weeks old) is not compatible with Connect Services. This after I was told twice that I must visit my dealership with a number of documents to get the ownership of my car verified. On both occasions the dealership didn't have a clue what I was on about. What a waste of both mine and the dealerships time that was.

I've never had any luck with registering ownership with the My Vauxhall site, did it with my old Corsa and they also had no clue what I was on about, then at a different dealership with my Astra they wanted to scan the V5C and a few weeks later the car still isn't verified on the site, so I just gave up.
I think that's the whole idea. They continually give you the run around and pass you from one agent to another knowing you'll get nowhere while hoping that you'll give up.
hi VX social customer care I've have a 67 1.6t sri and it has a failing clutch. With hindsight this issue as slowly developed first real problem was a month ago with the clutch pedal sticking halfway down after starting car first thing in the morning. Temporary solution was to lift it by hand manually, now conscious of problem have noticed variable biting point traveling up to 50% before pressurising system.
Contacted VX no recall on petrol car (aren't parts same as diesel) and out of warranty. Contacted dealer want £1200 to investigate problem this is to remove gearbox, but said if slave cylinder is leaking VX would replace.
I want to know want is the real problem with the clutch is I have read posts were cars have had 2 master and slave cylinders, full clutch, elbow and pipe and still faulty.
