Hi,

We're a Vauxhall Main Retailer and we're here to answer any questions/queries you may have.

We're on quite a few forums so a few members may have seen us around! Either way, if you need anything, drop us a PM!

Thanks,
James

Thanks for joining and welcome!

What would really interest me is detail on the main issues are concerning the 'K'. That is, what is it that most customers complain about and require rectifying?

From my perspective, the most irritating thing is the lack of response on the tunnel / darkness detector for the lights. For example, mine frequently only come on halfway through a lengthy tunnel (seemingly long after all the other makes of vehicles) and invariably don't turn off again for quite a period of time, especially if it's a dull day or the sun is low. I demonstrated this to my dealer recently while dropping the car for its second service and they hadn't heard of the problem (so they say) and yet it's been widely reported on here.

It's not unique to the 'Intellilux' either (no surprise, I suppose, as it's probably the same sensor on all the versions). Is this a recognised 'problem' in your experience?

Cheers!

Personally, I work in the sales area rather than service so don't hear a great deal of problems to be honest. At least, not one one common theme.

I know of one person who's had similar issues with his IntelliLux headlights and the car has been in a small handful of times, I think he's happy now. There is a TSB for issues like you have which could be related to condensation on the windscreen in front of the front camera lens. There is an improved bracket with additional foam which holds/secures the front camera.

The headlight / sensor / camera 'problem' isn't confined to the 'intellilux' headlights, apparently, and is common to all the Astras (when it occurs). Many owners, however, seem to be happy and haven't experienced this particular issue (as your post would suggest). Besides, road sign recognition and other indicators using the front camera aren't necessarily affected, even when the headlights are, which led me to wonder whether it was a software / firmware glitch? I shall re-consult my dealer and get some more info.

In the meantime, many thanks for your feedback - much appreciated! :) :) .
