As posted elsewhere I have an issue with my fuel gauge not reading full. In fact it seems to read low all down the scale. Onstar also reports that the tank is only 91% full when it is reporting a fuel level of 48 litres. The dealer has opened a technical query with Vauxhall but I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the fuel gauge at all, or knows of anyone else reporting it?
As a software developer I would be hauled over the coals if I produced code with this type of error. Come on Vauxhall get your finger out and sort the issue once and for all.

I filled up my car for the first time today and reset trip A (also both the fuel gauge and app both showed fuel level as being full)
According to the car I've averaged 38mpg over 77 miles and that's with a mix of motorway and urban driving.
I filled up, car has done 260 miles, online app says 4 gallons left, car shows quarter tank left which is less than 3 gallons but car is telling me I'm averaging 45 mpg, who or what do u believe
34 mpg based on receipts over the first 250 miles - mainly local mileage. I will be happy if it is between 35 and 40 mpg when run in and doing mixed local/motorway driving - and I am using the power periodically.
Recently 245 miles to Brighton cost £ 29 in fuel - one way with two up - so half the cost of a cheap train deal.
Now up to 970 miles and the engine is freeing up and it is also noticeable how much better the brakes are becoming.
Filled the Astra up yesterday. The fuel gauge was dead center (1/2 tank). Doing 3 really slow clicks I managed to get 16 liters in.. The needle of course didnt show full. If the tank is 48 liters, then the first half of the gauge quals 1/3 of the tank. No wonder it first drops like a stone and then doesn't move.
I've just got a call from the dealer. They will be swapping out my fuel tank and hopefully it will solve all my problems! Thankfully I was already booked for annual service next week and they will do the switch that day. Otherwise I would have had to wait at least one month due to fully scheduled mechanics!

Good luck with that, just had my tank changed and it does now read full on the app at 51 or 52 litres, but I'm sure it's still only got 48 in it. 1st fill after getting car back needle just below half, app reading 25 litres. Got 23 in, app showed 51 and full. I think at this point my maths is better than that of the car.
I picked up the car with 5 km. They said they put 5L in and gauge was just above empty. Went to petrol station 2 km away and the guy poured in 44,43L. Gauge went to a little more than full.... we ll see how it goes down
Finally got round to checking mine. Reset my Trip A when I filled up in Bournemouth last week and noted the mileage. Just filled up this evening and Trip A was at 39.3 MPG, but calculating it myself the true MPG was 35.1. Once I had filled up I checked on my app and the tank was reading 100%, so I don't have an issue there. My old vectra also used to tell me the MPG but I always just accepted it and never thought to double check, so for all I know that could have been out too. I was lucky if I ever got over 25 MPG in that over a whole tank.

The fuel gauge now works perfectly thanks to the repair. The "consumption" also seems reasonable now. Unlike before when the gauge dropped like a stone to half a tank until 200 km and then barely moved.
Did a long trip this week and got 0,44 L / 10km (64 MPG). Quite impressive.
Rang local dealer who says there is nothing on the service system showing any errors and when I mentioned this forum he laughed it off for some reason...
Anyway they are going to be taking a look at it in January..
on first picking the car up i put twenty pound in and it only took me to the first notch i got 107 miles mainly round town.red to red .i put in 20 pound again and it took it just under half but iv only got the same miles for 20 quid.its reading at between 37-41 mpg.i have the 1.6 sri 108 bhp with sports button.i hope the econemy improves a little
Apparently mine is the fuel sender or something like that so waiting on parts (I did ask what exactly was wrong but they were rude and mumbled and I had been stood around for 20 minutes so didn't ask again).
Will let you know once the work has been carried out.
They also said there was a recall on it - software update - not fixed the 7/8ths and also they said android auto update would cost me (my car is early on 65 plate and doesn't have it)

Pentagon - I don't have much choice - unless I go to Leadenham.
Are you near me then?
